Green: my new favorite color...
Green: the Spectrum Project color for May...and I missed it.
However, I have all these green images on hand and it would be a shame to let them go to waste, so if you'll indulge me a bit, let me take you back a couple of weeks to the green month of May.
If you live in Minnesota, like I do, then you are no stranger to the ubiquitous Hosta. (Shelley can back me up on this)
These particular Hostas line the sidewalk outside of our "back" door. (The door is actually on the side of the house, regardless, I will always and forever refer to it as the back door.) The hostas are taking over the walk and desperately need to be divided... Yet another thing that I haven't gotten around to doing, ugh.
A while back when I flashed my stash I made reference to the quilt that my mother made for me, and from the stash montage you can sort of get a piece meal image of the quilt. So I thought I would show you the lovely quilt my mother made for us that currently covers the bed in
If you've ever wondered what librarians and the library's support staff do for kicks on their weekends off, (and you know that you have) well, let me tell you, they go (dragging their spouses (me) along with them), to other library grand openings to scope out the competition. Minneapolis recently had a grand re-opening of it's downtown Central Library. It is four story library filled with many wonders. It really is quite impressive. This green guy here is a dragonfly that soars over the children's area of library. You can click on the picture to see more pictures of the library opening.
And finally here is a picture of a sunflower that my youngest daughter planted as a school project. It was her hope to plant this sunflower outside and grow a towering twelve foot flower in front of the house this summer.
But this here fellow had other ideas. The bunny ate the flower, crushing her hopes and making her cry. Which has earned this bunny, and all of it's bunny friends my deep and eternal contempt. To quote another bunny, "I hope you realize, this means war!". Bunnies have caused nothing but trouble in our family, and not withstanding Lisa's excellent bunnies and their cute bunny tails, I most sincerely and very adamantly dislike bunnies... Stupid rabbits!
That's all the green for now, I have a couple other things of green to show you from May but it will have to wait for now.
The color for June is blue. A popular color amongst men, my husband and oldest son included. I've had knitting the Pomatomus Sock Pattern from knitty on my to do list and have decided to knit them in this blue Trekking XXL #108, purchased specifically for this project, pictured here amongst my blue Asters.
Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of my adventures in the Amazing Lace.
4 Opinions:
You know what else is green?
My eyes.
Yep. Not hazel. GREEN.
I also used to have green hair. Very bright. I was so cool. Still cool, but not as stupid...Maybe.
Uhm, if your eyes are green then so are mine.
No, yours are brown.
Sorry, no banana. (Which can also be green).
Beautiful photos. And your cursor is endlessly entertaining....I can't leave!
