Another Calendar project. A lace anklet sock that I'm knitting in cotton. The lace pattern is called a bead stitch. I should have read the instructions instead of following the chart because you need to slip the first stitch of the round to the last needle on the second row of this sock pattern to make this pattern work in the round. Now that I figured it out I'm liking it more. One thing though, the pattern has you cast on 52 stitches and knit a K2P2 rib, which doesn't come out evenly. So I cast on 54. I think if I'm actually going to finish these socks I would chose a different rib. I'm thinking a K1p3 would line up better with the pattern.

Is this from the Pattern a Day Calendar? I just saw it and was'nt so sure about the stitch pattern, but I like it much better after seeing your picture!

It is a calendar project. April 16, 17 & 18. I thought it looked different too. I think it's harder to see the pattern on the calendar picture because it's a variegated yellow or I'm knitting it somehow differently. When I do the sk2p I insert the needle into the second then the first stitch of the left needle as if I were going to knit two together, but instead of knitting them I move them to the right needle I then knit the third stitch and pass the two stitches on the right needle back over the knit stitch. This makes a centered double decrease, remember to yarn over before and after this stitch. Also she calls for casting on 52 stitches and then knitting a K2P2 rib but this didn't come out evenly. I used a larger needle, size 2 so I think you could get away with using 48 stitches and not do a decrease. Or you can add two more stitches and decrease six stitches for the pattern instead of four. Are you thinking about doing the pattern? Kelle
